The Carnival in Goa is not just a festival; it's an experience that stays with you long after the music has faded and the confetti has settled. As the Carnival of 2024 drew closer, its charm started lingering in the hearts of those lucky enough to experience it. Goa's Carnival offers a unique and intimate celebration that captures the true spirit of the region.
As the Carnival kicks off, the streets of Goa transform into a carnival of colors. Revelers don elaborate costumes, with feathers, sequins, and masks adding to the spectacle. The beats of traditional Goan music mingle with contemporary tunes, creating an electrifying atmosphere that is impossible to resist.
The dates and timings for the 2024 carnival parade and floats are as follows:
FRIDAY: The parade in Porvorim on Friday will commence from the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (IHM) and proceed towards Acdil School.
SATURDAY: The Panjim parade on Saturday will kick off at 3:30 pm from the Old Secretariat building, with Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, flagging off the event. The parade route will extend from the New Patto Bridge to the Campal ground (SAG).
SUNDAY: Regarding Margao on Sunday, the parade will commence near Holy Spirit Church and proceed towards Margao Municipal Council Square. In Vasco, it will start from St. Andrews Junction (Swatantra Path) and proceed to Joshi Chowk.
Tourism Director, Suneel Anchipaka, announced during a press briefing on Thursday that the route in Mapusa will begin from the Mapusa Court and conclude at the bus stand. This briefing also marked the release of the Carnival theme song.
In Carnival 2024, Clive Anthony Gracias has been chosen to reign as King Momo.
